RevivePress

Posted on December 30, 2024 | Updated on December 30, 2024

If you’ve had a website for a while, then you’ve likely collected years of content. It’s natural for some of it to grow outdated. Knowing how to revive older posts and keep them fresh can drive more traffic to your pages and keep your readers coming back for more. Only you have the expertise to determine if a topic is still relevant and worth revamping or not. Start by taking inventory of the articles on your site and how many need to be refreshed through a plugin like RevivePress.

Experts deduced from a survey that bloggers who update old posts see 2.5 times stronger results than those who don’t.

RevivePress Best Features

This powerful plugin does quite a bit to automate your article refresh on your WordPress site. RevivePress has some interesting features, including:

  • Set all your posts to automatically republish with a refresh date.
  • Set intervals and even use a random calendar.
  • Exclude some categories and include others.
  • Select posts in either ascending or descending order.
  • Integrates with Indexing API by Rank Math.
  • Purge site cache after republishing.
  • Share posts to social media pages.

If you’re looking for a tool to help you create always fresh, evergreen content, then RevivePress is a plugin you should consider.

Why Should You Use RevivePress to Refresh Your Content?

You can download RevivePress from the developer’s website or on WordPress.org. The most effective way to repurpose content is by taking stock of what you have on your site and how you can use it in different ways to engage your audience.

The software has many five-star reviews on the website. Some of the things people praise RevivePress for include:

  • The developer is professional and supportive.
  • Excellent service.
  • Great features and very simple to set.
  • Very specific features.

Some users did have a few negatives to point out, including:

  • Waiting for help after nine days.
  • Not enough support.
  • Worked great at first but started having issues after updates.

As with any paid plugin you may want to proceed with caution. While the majority of reviews were positive, there were a handful of negative comments. Be aware, never invest more than you can afford to lose and see if the pros outweigh the cons for your small business.

Three Versions of RevivePress

There are several versions and pricing options available for this plugin.

The packages come in an annual and lifetime package. With the lifetime package, you’ll pay once and can use the software forever. Updates and support are good for the length of license you buy. Designerly always lists the retail price, but you can often find discounts or lowered pricing on software, as pictured above.

The starter package gives you a license for a single website and priority support.

Annual: $39.99 per year (often on sale)

Lifetime: $129.99

If you want to use the software with more than one site, the Business license covers up to five websites and priority support and updates.

Annual: $119.99 per year

How to Install and Use RevivePress

Installing RevivePress is quite easy, so even a beginner at a CMS system like WordPress can get it in place and start using it within minutes.

Step 1: Install the Software

Navigate to the Dashboard of your WordPress site and go to Plugins/Install New. Search for the software by typing in “RevivePress.” The plugin should pull right up and you can click on Install Now and then Activate.

Note: If you get the yellow warning box about the current version of WordPress, it may be due to a lag in updates. It should still work with the current version. Although we typically like plugins that have been updated sooner, the other options for reviving old posts are lacking in some of the features we see here. We are hoping Sayan Datta updates his plugin shortly. Make sure all your security protocols and a firewall are in place to avoid as many vulnerabilities as possible.

Step 2: Tweak the Settings

Once you have the software installed, it’s time to tweak the settings.

You can add filters, intervals and set social media shares. Set a maximum number of articles to be republished a day to keep your site active over time. You can set up intervals of how frequently posts publish–default is 15 minutes.

Go through each one and try the setting you think works best for your site, backed by research from past publishing efforts. You may have to do some split testing and trial and error to find the perfect mix, as each site is unique.

Click the blue “Save Settings” button at the bottom of the page.

You Installed RevivePress. Now What?

As you can see, the setup is very intuitive and simple. It’s easy to change settings at any time. Once you’ve set up the software, let it run in the background and do the heavy lifting of refreshing old articles.

Some things you can keep an eye on to update your content even more include:

  • Replace old images with new ones. Perhaps you need higher resolution images or something more relevant to the topic.
  • Update keywords. Do research on what is trending and change the focus a bit.
  • Pepper in quotes from experts to make your content unique.
  • Change subheadings for better readability.

Look at your content through the eyes of your readers. Are you answering their questions? Is there anything missing or outdated? With a bit of effort, your site will become more evergreen, your SERPs will improve, and you’ll find a loyal audience for your site.
