The Best (And Worst) Super Bowl Ads of 2025

Posted on February 25, 2025 | Updated on March 21, 2025

Some of us watch the Super Bowl not for football but for the commercials. These million-dollar advertisements are always a fun break from the game. However, some inevitably rank last. Here are the best and worst Super Bowl ads of 2025

The 10 Best Super Bowl Ads of 2025

The best Super Bowl ads of 2025 are tremendously varied, showcasing everything from toilet paper to technology. Some tug at the heartstrings, while others appeal to life’s simple desires.

1. Bud Light: Big Men on Cul-De-Sac

This commercial opens with Post Malone asking Shane Gillis about fishing. Gillis responds, “I got a colonoscopy tomorrow.” Later, someone asks, “Your mower smokes meat?” and Gillis responds, “No, our smoker cuts grass.” He even complains about the HOA.

These absurd yet relatable conversations appeal to the company’s target demographic — the suburban male.

Although this 2025 Super Bowl commercial parodies the cul-de-sac lifestyle, the experience it shows is still desirable. Psychological targeting is an effective marketing technique because it creates demand. What suburban male doesn’t want a large cooler, an enviable grill, and a crowded block party?

2. Liquid Death: Safe for Work

The background music loops the phrase “drink on the job” while a pilot, doctor, judge, referee and even a school bus driver take swigs from a can of Liquid Death. At the end of the commercial, someone slams down a beer mug full of water. It’s cheeky enough to work.

3. Lay’s: The Little Farmer

This Lay’s ad was one of the best Super Bowl ads in 2025. It depicts a little girl determined to grow a potato. She shelters it from a storm with an umbrella and even camps beside it. She eventually adds her fully-grown potato to the Lay’s truck.

At the end, an image of a similar little girl pops up on the screen with the text “Real potatoes grown on family farms across America.”

What made this advertisement so impactful? It used visuals to convey a story, transcending language barriers. Although it was wordless, the message was loud. It subconsciously ties this simple, happy life to Lay’s potato chips. Overall, it was incredibly wholesome.

4. OpenAI: The Intelligence Age

OpenAI’s 2025 Super Bowl commercial used a series of dots to depict human evolution, going from caveman making a fire to microchip manufacturing. It effectively positions ChatGPT as the starting point for the future of technology, which is as powerful as it is provocative.

This was one of the best Super Bowl ads of 2025 because it struck a cord — artificial intelligence is already accelerating humanity’s progress. Recent studies show AI is set to grow exponentially over the next few years as companies use the technology to enhance productivity, decision-making and customer experience. OpenAI was positioning itself as the leader of this technological revolution.

5. Nespresso: The Detective

Nespresso’s Super Bowl ad starts with a thief who ignores diamonds to steal Nespresso pods. The woman who was robbed refers to the pods as her “jewels.” We’re off to a great start. The detective’s investigation is intercut with tantalizing shots of freshly brewed coffee.

Everything from the background melody loop to the exquisite coffee-colored set screams luxury. The idea that a thief would overlook precious jewels to steal coffee pods supports these elements. Plus, the thief is a chef — someone with a particularly refined palate.

6. Totino’s: Chazmo Finally Goes Home

E.T. clearly inspired this Totino’s ad — it has a strange-looking alien and a group of plucky kids. The main difference is that this extraterrestrial gets squished by his own spaceship before takeoff. Not only is it funny, but it imparts important information about pizza rolls.

What makes this one of the best Super Bowl ads of 2025 is that it has a backstory. In a previous video, the kids bid Chazmo goodbye. Their dads get angry about being excluded, so they kick the spaceship — unintentionally causing the malfunction that leads to poor Chazmo’s demise.

7. Mountain Dew – Kiss From a Lime

This commercial opens with a woman drinking Mountain Dew Baja Blast, which is an innocuous enough beginning. However, it gets weird fast. She drops into a speedboat in a tropical setting. Then, ironically, a seal with Seal’s face sings a parody of Seal’s 1994 hit “Kiss From a Rose.”

At one point, orcas pass by and the song briefly pauses before Seal continues. The comedic timing is impeccable. This so-called “unhinged marketing” is unapologetically weird. Since it is attention-grabbing, it is fun to watch — especially for younger generations.

8. Dove: These Legs

Dove’s Real Beauty campaign focuses on body positivity and self-love, striving to make beauty a source of confidence, not anxiety — which is why this Super Bowl commercial just works. Dove could increase its revenue by 33% with consistent branding like this. There’s even a hashtag so viewers can continue the conversation on social media.

9. Haagen-Dazs: Not So Fast, Not So Furious

The Fast and Furious franchise is as beloved as it is made fun of. People who have never seen it know of it because of the memes. Here, Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez are not racing like usual. Instead, cruise along, enjoying the slow life — and a chocolate almond ice cream bar.

10. Angel Soft: The Big Game Potty-Tunity

A 30-second timer ticks down, giving viewers enough time to go to the bathroom without missing anything. It’s one of the best Super Bowl ads of 2025 because it is witty and helpful, which makes it memorable. Everyone needs toilet paper. Now, when they inevitably need to buy more, they will remember Angel Soft.

The 5 Worst Super Bowl Ads of 2025

Not every commercial was as good as the top 10 were. Some were too weird or criminally boring, landing them in the list of the five worst Super Bowl ads of 2025.

1. Tubi: The Z-Suite

Tubi’s The Z-Suite takes the top spot for the worst Super Bowl ad of 2025. According to USA Today’s ad meter, the Z-Suite has an average rating of 1.85 out of 5, putting it in last place. That is a far cry from the Budweiser ad’s 3.56 out of 5 rating.

What made Tubi’s Super Bowl commercial so bad? The marketing meant to appeal to younger generations. It was packed with references to TikTok, which 58% of Generation Z uses. However, it came off as forced and unoriginal. Everything from the POV to the fake end card was something other brands have done better.

2. Coffee Mate: New Coffee Mate Cold Foam

Just no. Who wants to watch a computer-generated tongue dance around in an immobile man’s mouth? The concept is interesting enough, but it went too weird, which made it unnerving. Many people easily consider it one of the worst Super Bowl ads of 2025.

3. Hims & Hers: Sick of the System

The Hims & Hers Super Bowl commercial reads like a public service announcement. It is depressing and felt accusatory. It obviously wanted to capitalize on Americans’ discontent with the system, but the result fell flat.

Hims & Hers went from bashing the industry to bragging about being a part of it. It would have been better to make everything before the 33-second mark into a separate ad.

Ryan Paulson, a chief creative officer, told Adweek, “This ad really misread the moment of the Super Bowl.” While he agreed provocative can be done well, he said the “execution was a downer,” and it blamed consumers for contributing to the weight-loss industry.

“Or maybe I just felt guilty ‘cause I was eating my second chocolate chip cookie when it came on,” Paulson admitted. He is right, though — how many of us were enjoying chips, wings, sliders and charcuterie when this commercial came on?

4. Squarespace: A Tale as old as Websites

While the concept of Barry Keoghan tossing laptops like newspapers was hilarious, it was not particularly memorable. Plus, what’s on the laptop screens is easy to miss on the first watch, so anyone who doesn’t know what Squarespace is gets left in the dark.

If Squarespace had left out the horse walking on air at the end — which they likely did to drive social media buzz or get into a complication of weird Super Bowl commercials — they would have had 10 more seconds to do something other than repeating “Squarespace’ over and over.

5. Cirkul: You Got Cirkul

Out of all of the worst Super Bowl ads of 2025, this is the most mild. However, even though it is the best of a bad lot, it is still bad. Adam Devine is not particularly funny, and the message is not very clear.

The Super Bowl is one of the most-watched televised events, so this ad felt like a missed opportunity. Surprising 100,000 random people with free Cirkul merchandise could have supported a separate, massive marketing campaign. Instead, they played every card at once.

Who Knows What Super Bowl Ads Will Air Next Year?

This list of the best and worst Super Bowl ads of 2025 featured everything from weight loss drugs to canned cold foam. Some burgeoning companies, like OpenAI and Cirkul, for example, made their debut this year. Who knows what kinds of commercials will air next year?
