What to Look for in Events Themes
Event themes need to be compatible with plugins, such as calendars and registration forms. You’ll want a theme that can connect to a powerful shopping plugin, such as WooCommerce, so you can sell registrations right from your site. Make sure your events theme has the following:

Ensuring your theme is responsive to smaller screens allows people to register on the fly. You don’t want them to have to go to their desktop if they find your event information on their smartphone. Doing so risks losing them to a million other things they could be doing instead.
Our Favorite Events Themes
We spent a lot of time sorting through different WordPress themes for events. The options are almost endless between free and paid designs. We tried to locate ones that have at least a lite version that is free but also offered the opportunity to upgrade and increase the features for the website design. We narrowed the options down to four we think are really good and a fifth that is our favorite out of all the designs.
Epic Business Event
Even though you can change the colors and images in this theme, we love the gradient that goes from left to right and blue to pink. It stands out as unique in the industry and grabs attention. If you want to make it a little less feminine, you can change to more of a red hue and make the countdown in a different color.
The Epic Business Event theme is a child theme of the Bizberg theme. One of the reasons we chose this theme is because of the many options for child themes with Bizberg. You can create almost any look you want by tapping into the power of their child themes.
The free version comes with a homepage, works with Elementor, offers three header layouts, sticky menu and progress bar. You can have up to two slides in the slider menu and change theme colors, sidebar, add a blog and more.
Upgrading to the pro version gains additional sliders, a banner button, footer background image, ability to change copyright text, event speaker page, speaker detail page and event schedule page.
Conference Event Planner
Conference Event Planner is the perfect theme for someone who plans events for a living. The layout offers tabs to list your team, various venues you work with and offer a gallery of past jobs. You can also list services, such as wedding planning, private parties and other details.
We love the sidebar that serves as a menu and includes social media links. The free theme has a responsive design and can be used on as many domains as you’d like. Adding Premium features gives you a theme bundle with tons of options, additional templates, ability to change colors and fonts and some demo content. You’ll also gain technical support and access to the forums.
Coming Soon Event
Coming Soon Event offers a one-page countdown to an event launch. Get the word out quickly by throwing a page and utilizing this WordPress theme. Note the countdown feature showing how many days, hours, minutes and seconds are left.
The theme also utilizes social media pages to encourage engagement. You can customize the theme by changing the background image and text.
The free version comes with responsive design, contact page, footer settings, social media icons and lets you swap out features images. The upgrade means buying all their themes for around $159. Whether the upgrade is worth it depends on your need for additional themes and whether they meet your industry needs.
Event Management
Event Management is another theme that works best for companies that plan events. The bright colors grab attention but you can put your own spin on it by adding images from events you’ve planned. We love the “successful recent events” feature where you can list out different things you’ve planned and share snapshots of the best moments.
The free theme has limited social icon inclusions, full-width slider, Woocommerce compatibility and a gallery section. Upgrade and get more layouts for each type of page, Google fonts support, simple menu option, custom CSS, Google Maps and a newsletter section.
Our Winner: Corporate Event
At first glance, the Corporate Events theme might look pretty standard. There is a hero image, calls to action and a countdown. However, the more you study the theme, the more you realize how adaptable it is for any type of event website.
