Chapter 5: Best Real Estate Themes for WordPress

Posted on December 9, 2023 | Updated on June 11, 2024

If you work in the real estate industry, finding real estate themes for your website is fairly easy. The challenging part is narrowing down the options to the best of the best. You’ll want a theme that makes you stand out from other realtors but also is recognizable as being part of home sales.

According to the National Association of Realtors, there are about three million realtors in the United States and 106,548 real estate brokerage firms. Nearly every town, no matter how big or small, has at least a handful of realtors. If you want to stand out from others in your field, you have to come up with a design that speaks to the personality of your brand.

Although most people looking for real estate themes are likely real estate agents, you could want one for a supportive role such as mortgage broker, home inspector or house stager. Many of the themes listed below will work for you, as well.

Add your own real estate logo to any of these designs along with a custom color palette and you’re on your way to an exciting WordPress website design that will draw users in.

What to Look for in Real Estate Themes

Some key elements to any business website are themes with things such as a nice balance of white space, excellent navigation and sharp photos to showcase properties. Real estate themes should also have:

  • Profile photo and bio area
  • Gallery of photos of sold houses
  • Clean, minimalistic design
  • Navigation bar near the top of the page
  • Ability to upload video galleries for virtual walkthroughs

You might also want to have some type of contact form or appointment scheduling software on your pages. Stay away from generic images and add ones that show what you’ve sold or illustrate your current listings.

Our Favorite Real Estate Themes

Even though other service businesses might choose to use a real estate theme, for the purposes of this article, we’re focusing on agents as the most likely people to download these designs and use them. Here are our favorites.

Real Estate Directory

Real Estate Directory is a child theme of the less personalized NexProperty. Note the dark blue to establish a sense of trust between the real estate company and the home buyer. We like the bigger hero area on this child theme versus the main theme. Add in photos of properties available to customize the theme.

Some of the features of the theme include a listing page, calendar, search function and list of agents.

Profile Lite

Profile Lite is an excellent option for real estate agents to show off their personality and what they bring to the table. The example pages shown on the demo site highlight how versatile the theme is. You can do anything from a full hero shot of the real estate agent to a plain background with a photo in the center.

The example above highlights the agent’s social media profiles. It creates a minimalistic, professional image. You could use Profile Lite in many different ways.

Classic Real Estate

Classic Real Estate features a hero image and some smaller listing images across the bottom of the landing page fold. Note how the white space between the photos sets off each listing and brings attention to the details you’d like.

If you’re an agent or mortgage broker with multiple listings, this theme would be an excellent match for what you do. You can also upgrade to the Pro version for $39 and gain customization options, more headers and parallax sections.

Real Estate Management

Real Estate Management theme puts the emphasis on the properties for sale, allowing you to highlight one of your top listings. People can see the cost of each property and the size in the highlight boxes below the header image.

The free theme provides mobile responsiveness and an excellent user experience. A premium upgrade adds features such as social login, more color schemes, a custom banner and a gallery for virtual showings.

Our Winner: Real Estate Calibre

Real Estate Calibre is put out by Ammu Themes and has a professional edge you don’t always see in free or inexpensive themes. One of the reasons we chose this as our best of the real estate themes was because of the clean lines and added features such as icons by the listings and bar with a solid pop of color across the top.

Some of our favorite features of this theme include:

  • Adjusts for mobile viewing
  • Slider showcasing available properties
  • Customizable with photos
  • Plenty of white space
  • Huge hero image space

The overall look grabs the user and pulls them into one of the featured properties almost immediately. The real estate theme works well for an agent or group of realtors.

Finding the Best Real Estate Theme for You

Uncovering the best real estate themes means paying attention to what other companies and realtors use and selecting something slightly different or highly customizable. People may look at listings from several agencies, so it’s crucial you stand out from the crowd and make yourself memorable through branding and a stellar design.
